“If you want to feel like John Wick in a 16-bit world, Superfighters is the game for you. It’s one of those rare games where the ‘accidents’ are the best part like trying to throw a grenade, hitting a wall, and then having to dive out of a window to escape your own explosion.
The AI is surprisingly smart and will actually hunt you down, so you can never just stand still. Every match feels like a unique action movie scene. Even though Superfighters Deluxe exists now with better graphics, there is a specific ‘crunchiness’ and nostalgic charm to this original version that keeps me coming back. It’s brutal, it’s fast, and it is incredibly satisfying when you win a 1v3 brawl with just a lead pipe.
